ShareProphets – The Chinese Love of Cinema Should Benefit this Ambitious 3D Pioneer January 16, 2019 – Posted in: GVMH – Tags: , , , , ,

Hello, Share Swappers. We hear a lot about the Chinese setting up businesses here. But there are also British companies providing services to the Chinese. It’s a pity more UK firms don’t set their sights on this fast developing country because there is a huge market out there waiting to be tapped…

One company which is already out there is Grand Vision Media Holdings (GVMH). It’s a niche venture which is so often an advantage, having little serious competition. It sets up giant 3D screens in the foyers of cinemas and other reception areas. These screens are used to advertise to customers. Fare includes film trailers, holiday promotions, cookery videos and all other kinds of advertising. If you can see them in 3D it’s reasonable to say you’re much more likely to watch and be influenced to buy.

The Chinese have rushed to sign up. The firm now has more than 180 locations in most regions of China. But that’s only a fraction of the places where the screens could be installed. And Grand Vision Media is living up to its name by also bringing its act to nearby Thailand, Korea and Japan. But how do folks view in 3D without special glasses which they’re not likely to put on just to see adverts? Easy, Grand Vision is leading the way in glasses-less technology.

TS Capital – which kindly brought this company to my attention – has worked out a target of 25p a share by the end of this year. Of course, the company’s success depends on cinemas continuing to bring in punters despite the boom in home screen entertainment. Well, a US survey done in 2017 found that ticket sales notched a record of $40.6 billion. The growth was largely attributed to a boom in cinema viewing in China.

And now it’s time to view the beer in the Punter’s Return.
